"A&E and fracture clinic"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Anything else?

Firstly would like to thank the a&e receptionist, she was very helpful, unlike the doctor I saw last night! I broke my foot on the 3rd of June (the doctor I saw when I broke it however was amazing! And would highly recommend her!). I returned to fracture clinic the day after to have my pot changed no problems and again the same the week after, from then its all gone down hill! When my post was changed for the second time it was done to tight so I had to come back and have it changed again (the 4th pot!), not only that when I saw the doctor at that appointment, I explained that my pain was not settling down with pain killers and his reply was well its going to hurt put up with it, I was so shocked! It got to the point where I returned to a&e yesterday were i was disgusted, after waiting for some time I was called through and then asked to leave because he had a call to make, when he finally got round to calling me back in and asking me why I was there he left the room to make another call, after 20mins of been sat in the room the doctor finally started to sort me out, I explained the situation that I was in a lot of pain (to the point of tears) he said that he would split my pot and see if that helps with the pain, it did nothing, the doctor said he would ask the bone doctor to come and have a look at my foot, which after a further half an hour he did, and he said that he would give me a one off of oral morphine and send me home and see if that helped (he was going to get the doctor to give it me) a further 40mins later the doctor came back to me and and said there's nothing else he can do, he'll get the nurse to come and bandage over my pot and then I can go home and just carry on taking the same pain killers (that aren't working). So I was sent home no better off in fact worse because with the pot now being split it is not supporting my foot at all and all the sharp edges are grazing the side of my leg because its moving around, (causing more pain) Completely and utterly disgusted!
