"Paramedics knew how to talk to a teenager"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital / Cardiology South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

Last week I had trouble at school with my chest. Therefore my school called an ambulance. They got to us in 3 minutes. They checked me over and then took me to hospital. They showed great understanding about my age (I'm 14) making me laugh with jokes about the ECG going down to my age.

Hi NathanMYP Glos

Thank you for sharing your story. I hope you are feeling better.

It is always really good to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to patients when they need it most.

We would really like to speak to you a bit more about your experience to understand more about what was good, and bad, from your point of view. If you are happy to (and your parent/guardian is happy for you to), please can you email me at laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk and we can arrange a time to talk. Because you are under 18 we will need to have a chat with a parent/guardian aswell.

Look forward to speaking to you soon.

Laura
