"Diagnosis of breast cancer at the Nightingale..."

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Anything else?

Early in 2013 I found a lump in my breast. Within 3 days of seeing my GP I had an appointment for breast screening and further tests. My whole experience of diagnosis and learning that I had breast cancer was, of course, very worrying, but made bearable by the excellent treatment from every member of staff I met that day. Nurses, radiographers, radiologists and a superb consultant surgeon were all skilled, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. If I could have written a wish list for the kind of treatment and attitudes I would have wanted, you ticked all the boxes, All staff were respectful, understanding and sympathetic as well as collaborative. I felt genuinely treated as a partner in my own treatment. I could not suggest a single area for improvement. Just keep up the good work and a huge thank you to all staff for delivering such a wonderful service. Jane Harper
