Anything else?
I recently spent a few days in Cherry Ward having had a hip replacement operation and I can't praise the Ward staff too highly. The Surgeon, Anaesthetist, all the Nursing staff, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists ,Cleaners and Porters were all so helpful and cheerful and made my stay almost enjoyable. However, on the day I was sent down for an X-ray, just over 48hours after my op, it was far from enjoyable. I was pushed down to Xray on my bed and presumed I would have the X-ray on it otherwise I could have gone in a wheelchair. The lady in X-ray though insisted I got across onto the X-ray table, and when I found this difficult bearing in mind I am 78 years years old and had just had an op, she got hold of my operated leg and moved it over quite roughly. I also have a back problem and find it difficult to lie flat but she made no attempt to make things easier for me. She had to take three X-rays but would not let me rest in between. I was in absolute agony and was in tears in the end, though I don't cry easily, and it lasted for 20 minutes. I told the Ward Sister when I got back to the Ward and she said she would look into it. I'm sorry to have to complain but I hope this can be investigated to stop it happening to someone else. My ratings above obviously apply to Cherry Ward.
