"Communication in the radiology department"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

On the day I went to clinic my consultant booked an MRI scan for me, over 5 weeks later I phoned radiology to find out what was happening with the appointment only to be told it had been cancelled---however nobody bothered to tell me the patient of this fact or write to explain why. I have now had a letter from my consultant giving me an explanation but only after I phoned the department regarding the non appointment. To me there seems to be a lack of communication among some Good Hope departments, some of us patients may only have minor health problems but we still deserve to be kept informed.

Dear Catlady

I couldn't agree with you more and feel that any of us in your situation would have found this appointment situation wholly unacceptable. Your story has been shared with the booking team as it's important that lessons are learnt here. I'm sorry you've had this experience and hope that, should you need our services again, you will have a much better experience.

Kind regards

Simon
