(as a relative),

My father of 85 yrs was brought to heartlands by ambulance at 3. 30pm with a suspected bowel blockage. He was eventually X-rayed at 5pm at 8pm he was moves to the surgical assessment unit and has still not been seen by anyone or told what it happening! For an 85yr old man in pain, I think this is disgusting surely someone could give some indication as to what the X-ray showed as he is very distressed and worried.

6hrs with no news is not good enough. Why can supermarkets operate a 24hr service but a hospital gets nothing done between Friday lunchtime and Monday morning!

What are we paying taxes for?

He was in A&E for 4hrs waiting for a surgeon to look at his X-ray. He didn't arrive so he was then moved to ward 7. He then waited an hr and a half there before the doctor came to say the X-ray was inconclusive so they would do a CT over the weekend. When he arrived on the ward, he had to wait 45mins for someone to get him a jug of water. The service in A&E was good but on the ward they seemed very stretched to be able to care. He has now moved to ward 12 and is being sorted but it's just a shame it took 6hrs to get an answer to what was happening.
