"My husband has been bounced around ..."

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

My husband has been bounced around from one appointment to the next. He was told one week that he needed 'emergency surgery' as he's torn the tendons in his shoulder. He was then told (two weeks later) that he was being discharged and needed to go back to his GP.

He did this. She told him he needed to go back the West Mid to see the shoulder specialist. He got an appointment. It got moved. He got another appointment. We phoned to enquire why it was moved as he was in a lot of pain and didn't have any painkillers to cover this period. Apparently he was marked as not urgent and therefore was moved.

It's now been 4 months since his accident and he's none the wiser.

What could be improved

Better patient management and a joined up approach would be beneficial.
