"I was admitted to a ward in terrible ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to a ward in terrible pain, the staff were very kind and helpful, I did not expect to be admitted so did not have any night clothes etc, they were happy to oblige and lent me some until my wife could collect mine from home. The ward was cleaned all the time and was excellent. The food was good and very adequate. The whole experience was very good. I have to return soon for follow up treatment, and I have no problem with this. The Doctors spent time in explaining in detail what was wrong with me. This hospital is a credit to the NHS. My daughter in law works in the maternity department as a midwife and she is very dedicated and they work so hard and are really not appreciated. This is a very busy large hospital and it is doing as well as it can but of course more government funds would be a great help. The poor nurses are run off their feet I think all wards need extra staff! Why waste so much money on art when the NHS needs all it can get. The nurses and midwives do not get paid enough money for what they do!.

What could be improved

More money to provide extra staff, this would enable more one to one care and make you feel as though you are really being cared for! Lets make our hospitals as good as Europe! They are a credit with a bit more money this hospital could be a flag ship for England!
