" I needed hearing aids in both ears, which could be fitted on the same day"

About: NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG

(as the patient),

I went to my hearing appointment at Specsavers, Wellington, thinking they would tell me everything was OK. I could hear people talking, I could birds singing, OK I couldn't make out what some people were saying when in a group so basically sat and listened. The TV was a nightmare if I turned the sound up the voices were muffled, did intend getting earphones.

Chris the lady that tested my hearing made me feel so relaxed, explain everything as she went through the stages, I found it so interesting. She said I had got a hearing loss more from certain levels of sound and it was decided I indeed needed aids in both ears, which could be fitted on the same day, never expected that!

I came out from my appointment and what a difference. In fact I have worn them everyday since, never knew the indicators on my ear made a noise as well as flashed!

I can hear people talking clearer. Volume on TV us now at 20+ instead of 40+. The aids fit neatly behind my ear and my hair covered them - if has made my life better. I didn't realise how much I was missing.

Thanks to everyone who helped with with my transformation, certainly appreciated.
