What I liked

I had knee replacement surgery in January 2007. The staff were excellent and helpful, very professional but friendly and approachable. The cleanliness standard was extremely good and we had no cause for complaint whatsoever. Even the food gave no cause for complaint! This was the first time I had been in hospital for 50 years and was terrified at what was to come, but my mind was put at rest immediately by the comments of the others in my room who had experienced the same operation a couple of days previously. I was also extremely relieved to learn that this hospital had not had any of the more nasty bugs like MRSA, the only 'clean' hospital that I knew of. If the new operating theatres close down it will be a terrible waste of an excellent facility for the area.

What could be improved

Update of the air conditioning/heating system in the wards.
