"Response to 111 call - thank you to everyone"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Cardiology South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as a relative),

My husband started to suffer chest pains on Sat afternoon. After monitoring his blood pressure over the next 30 mins or so I decided to call 111. I had to press 9 as not yet live in Devon.

I owe a huge thank you to so many people. First to the lady who took my call, I'm sorry I have forgotten your name but you, obviously recognised the seriousness of the condition.

Thank you to the two guys from the rapid response team who arrived within minutes of putting down the phone. They were here when Brian suffered his heart attack. They saved his life. (They were even concerned about putting the furniture back in the right place before they left! ) To the first of 3 paramedics who arrived within minutes and took over from the rapid response team. To the nurses and doctors in the coronary care team at the RD&E hospital.

By the time I arrived he was already undergoing a procedure to clear the artery and fit a stent. How do I thank you?

When I returned home later and looked in the lounge, all furniture in its rightful place, it hit home then about all those people who had helped us that day. They had all just 'melted' away, no doubt to help and save other lives.

Although I know the NHS has problems coping with the strains of an ever demanding population, I know that on Sat. I witnessed it at its very best. I don't know how to personally thank those people involved on Sat. but if there is a way will someone let me know please.
