"Minor improvements needed but staff were great"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Parkwood inpatient unit

(as the patient),

There were plenty of books and board games but it all seemed a bit out of date, found myself walking round in circles trying to maintain my sanity. A universal remote control wouldn't go amiss, u can get them from a cheap shop =) also the food was quite bad; I'm not one to grumble but I've heard it's of a lower standard than the hospitals other restaurant.

After being diagnosed bipolar and put on meds I received early discharge which I was over the moon about, as I worried about a long spell in there! The whole team of nurses were lovely and I found many of them inspiring, I only wish all the patients could treat the staff with more respect sometimes because there were many kick offs. Only issue I had was my expensive headphones went missing.

Overall a life changing experience, for the better, and I shan't be going back any time soon hopefully! (Unless its to visit)

I am sorry that the resources available to you seemed dated, I have asked our Restart and Recovery Team to review our current stock and purchase additional stock if necessary. Unfortunately we are not able to supply remote controls for the TVs as we have an on-going problem with the TVs needing repair due to incorrect operation of the remote controls.

I am also sorry that you did not enjoy the food. We take this issue seriously and are working with the food provider to develop a healthy, varied, balanced menu.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the nurses. I am sorry that you lost your headphones. We work hard to try and help people keep their possessions safe.

Thank you for your last comment. We hope you keep well.
