"Learning how to be a mum"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Melton Mowbray)

Anything else?

I went to St Mary's after a traumatic emergeny c-section at LRI. With a very demanding baby, and as a first time mum i was still very much in shock, and lacking in confidence. The support from the staff there was just perfect; all the help i needed to establish breastfeeding (complete patience with my son and I), but yet leaving me to care for my son myself so that I learnt how to do it. We were shown how to bath our son at a time that suited him and us, and I was allowed to stay as long as i felt I needed before going home. And, the food there is genuinely great - nursing mums need to eat, and that is something St Mary's recognised ! Thank you for looking after us so well, we would never have made it to a year breastfeeding without you all
