I have had experience with all aspects of the team. I recieved fantastic care at st marys the staff were friendly knowledgable and very helpful in all the right ways. I had lots of trips to qmc for bleeds and scans, there u were a number in a que a statistic, at st marys you feel cared for and you could get a rapour with staff. The cleanliness was fantastic and even the cleaners were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunatly i was unable to utilise the birthing suits as my daughter arrived very quickly at home. But two of the midwives and a trainee were present at the house and delivered daisy as soon as they got through the door bless them. I had to go to queens initally but as soon as i was there i demanded i be sent back to melton as daisy and i were healthy. The next afternoon we returnedst marys so we could have a calm clean friendly environment with staff that care about helping you bond learn to feed and enjoy your new baby. The breast feeding support that i recieved at st marys was unbelievable and i dont think i would have kept it up for so long had i not had a couple of the staff sit for wat felt like the whole night chatting explaining reassuring and laughing about everything. Also the women on the ward built friendships and were able to relax. The food was amaxing all freash real food just what you need to be rebuilding your strength and aiding milk production. I had such an excellent experience with the st marys team and i reccomend them to everyone i can and if i have more i will be using them again they are fantastic. Having experienced the difference in our local centre and the city hospitals i think the cities should be sending there staff to st marys to remind them what they should be doing.
