Anything else?
After an incredibly traumatic birth and a week in hospital, I transferred to St Mary's for my aftercare. The place is amazing. I had hoped to give birth there but sadly had to be induced, so was really relieved to still be able to go afterwards. The staff were amazing. The facilities spotlessly clean. The food was out of this world - I ate sooo much, and the choice was fab. It was wonderful to be provided with a hot meal and a large salad to satisy my appetite and my need to rehydrate. Honestly, the midwives were wonderful. They sat with me when I needed to talk, they took my daughter for me when I needed to sleep. They supported my breast feeding efforts. They made sure I took my meds. They helped me and my husband learn to meet our baby's needs in those tough first few days. I honestly can't thank them enough. I would have loved to stay longer but it was Christmas so had to get home to see the family! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone considering birthing there or just going for aftercare. It gave me the time and space to start to come to terms with motherhood - I didn't know I'd need that, but I most certainly did! Thank you ladies, you were truly wonderful :-)
