Anything else?
I would like to start with the only positive thing about this entire disgrace of a hospital is that the emergency gynae unit is amazing the staff are so friendly and helpful and the facilities are great you would never believe that it belongs to the hospital. I was 40 weeks pregnant and had gone into labour I went in when i was %cm dilated and put in to the delivery suite, I had always been under a consultant and it was all over my notes that I should be consultant lead but a midwife decided they could look after me themselves big mistake! My labour progressed normally until 5:20am I was ready to push and they agreed. In all this time they would not allow any pain relief other than paracetamol. I then statrted pushing and felt aware of my daughter being stuck I tried all different positions as asked and no change. This midwife then left me to 11:30 still pushing which is 6 hours with no pain relief or getting a second opinion. We then noticed that my babies heart beat had dropped to 43 and demanded a consultant immediately. When they came in the room they shouted at the midwife and ran me down to theatre. Luckily my daughterwas ok but when the midwife was questioned about this later they denied the whole thing and hadn' t completed my notes. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and when you put a complaint in you are just ignored and called a liar. I would strongly advise any women having a child to find a different hospital!
