"Disgusted"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

Anything else?

My wife had a fit and I called 999 for an ambulance, She has not had a fit before and I had never seen anything like it. 999 controller was great, so where the Ambulance crews. but A&E at Sunderland Royal .... What a disgrace. We arrived at 10pm I signed my wife in at reception. and thats it, not information no signs telling you whats happening nothing. just stood in a large room with very few seats waiting, waiting for what? Eventually after an hour one of the ambulance men cam into waiting and told mne they were bed blocked. and nothing has happened yet. I waited and waited, without any idea of whats going on, no news no information nothing. Eventually at about 1am I was allowed to see my wife, again she knew nothing and hadnt seen a doctor yet. It wasnt until 4am we saw a doctor for 5 minutes and was discharded into the night with no information, and to be honest not even sure what was happening. yes a Nurse appologised, I felt sorry for them, its not their fault. but surely if the doctors are 6 hours behind some administrator can call some more in, or do we as patients not count?
