What I liked
Swift handling of initial assessment (broken arm following a fall). Full medical history taken, very quick x-ray and feedback. Half-plaster cast done quickly and proper advice given on follow-up. Treated by the same nurse-practioner throughout - very professional and knowledgeble with plenty of experience. Very good manner and dealt kindly with the need to cut-off my rings. Efficient discharge clutching my x-rays and notes for home hospital. All over in under 90 minutes (excluding ambulance time).
What could be improved
Ambulance response time was quite long - maybe 30 minutes - but it was rush-hour.
Short delay in pain control between coming off the gas + air from the ambulance before being given oral paracetamol which then also took time to work.
Two other patients at the same time in A+E with same injury apparently due to proximity of Waterloo and Victoria stations both with slippery surfaces (mine was from Victoria). Should this be followed up externally?
