"Long stay afterv stroke was good"

About: Chippenham Community Hospital

Anything else?

My overall view of chippenham is very good. i sufferd a stroke on good friday and went to RUH in bath to th acute stroke unit and transferred sfter 4 weeks to chippenham which was much easier for my wife and family to visit. the very best thing about chippenham is the staff especially the HCA's who do.not get enough credit whilst the nurses were fabulous the hcas and domestic stfaff ll made my stay a happy one on mulberry ward. I would say i found the food very dificult as it was so poor in all ares of choice presentation and taste it was absolutely dreadful the only saving grace were the staff who knew i wasc struggling to eat and could see mev losing 10 kilos over threec weeks they ordered food in, gotb the kitchens to prepare special meals forv me and generally helped where they could. the daily chats with staff where what kept me possitive and focused on getting better. i owe each and every member of staff who had thev missfortune to deal with me, to try to get me to eat, who cleaned my room or who had to get me washed and dressesed each day a huge debt of gratitude i honestly dont thinkn i would have come out vof vhospital in a possitivev frame of mind or vphysically able to face the challenges ahead. they literally kept mev from divingv into the depths vof depression. My family and i can not thank the wonderfulb staff enoug, thank you Thank you thankyou!
