Anything else?
I had my baby in 2011 and alhough i had a planned c-section, felt that I was made part of the decision making during the whole of the birthing process. Although we were too early for our apointment time, we were shown to Drayton ward where, to make things quicker before the section, i was monitored and given all of the answers to my questions. The staff were friendly and caring and put myself and my partner at ease. We were then taken down to the labour suite where the staff were welcoming, friendly and there was a nice atmosphere on the unit. /once again, the staff answered any questions and i felt confident that I would recieve excellent care. During the delivery of my baby, the kind staff took photos of us in theatre and there was once again a lovely, motivated atmosphere. We reieved wonderful care and it felt as if all our little requests were granted and it was no trouble at all for the staff. On arriving back on Drayton, the staff were welcoming again and even though i had problems with breast feeding, all i had to do was ask for help and it was given to me. At times the ward was busy and i could see some staff were a bit stressed but i did not feel that this impacted on the care that i recieved. i think that all of the negative press about george eliot affects the way people view the maternity services but i have to say that the staff make everything possible to ensure that you get good quality care. Well Done!!!!!
