I would like my thanks passed on to the team on the Colorectal day surgery unit. I had a haemorrhoidectomy and had difficulty passing urine so had to stay an extra night and day. I speak as an ex-nurse RMN RGN who has had poor experienced of elderly care some time ago, lost confidence in my profession and subsequently left it. The care on this unit was quite exceptional and the level of knowledge and practice a credit to all concerned. Anaesthetist, Cleaners, Consultant, House officers, Medical student, Nursing staff, Recovery staff and Registrar were all one could hope for in their roles - and more. Treliske has had bad press, and up to now I confess that my own experience of supporting a variety of patients through their care has not been good. However, the positive atmosphere across this unit together with the level of care and engagement with the patients makes me feel that huge corners are being turned. Thank you again. Jonathan Creber
