Having suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 20 plus years I have had five operations at the QE all performed by the same neurosurgeon whom I have found to be the best doctor I have met. She keeps me informed met every time we meet and always lets me make the decisions about the treatment to be undertaken but gives her opinion if asked. She is exceptionally polite and I have always felt at ease in her company. She listens to my opinions and I feel she takes it on board and not disregards my opinion. If only some GPs, who do not have much experience with your condition would listen to what you say and not ignore you because they are the 'doctor', not you!
