"Outpatients appointment"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Anything else?

I had to attend my yearly outpatients appointment with my Consultant, although told he was running 45 minutes late I was waiting for just over a hour , I understand this, it was busy however, with the two hours travelling time it made this a long time. The point is, I spent approximately three minutes with my consultant, he even apologised for the fact I had been waiting all that time for such a short consultation. Would it not be better for people like myself, I do have a long time incurable illness, that when I receive my appointment if I have no issues I can phone in and speak to either the consultant or the sister who works in the department telling them that. This will save time all-round and free up space for those who need to see the Consultant. I do have to point out, I DO NOT have any complaints about the doctor or staff, they as ever were doing a excellent job.
