I have been coming to ENT since I was 5 years old suffering with glue ear. I first saw the consultant at the Hayway Clinic in Rushden. I followed the grommet procedure as do many others. But unfortunately my Eustachian tube fails to drain the fluid on its own. This has been on going through my teens an now adulthood. Because of the continuous pressure from operations and blockage it's now effecting my hearing loss. Now in regards to my review it basically is to thank the consultant for his continued support, understanding and time to explain procedures and my condition! He has always been clear and patient in my understanding. I currently am an entertainer who relys on my ears which is unfortunate in some cases but as never stopped me how ever recently my t tubes dislodged after lasting an incredible seven years doing there job. I flew home where he took time to see me, realising my job was on hold but more the pain I was feeling! Unfortunately my hearing loss has deteriorated through time and hearing aids are now an options. Devastating, for as you can imagine, a 24 year old cruiseship entertainer, I could see the concern but also the care in his face. Through careful consideration he performed probably the last operation on my ears, but with delight has been a success! My hearing is restored to the levels before they fell out! Not only this, he was there to see me personally throughout the whole procedure and in recovery! A child condition for me is something I have not grown out off. But he has made this ordeal from a young child to an adult easier. He's watch me grow and still has time to go the extra mile! Anybody under his care is lucky! Thanks to ENT (his secretary and assistants also deserve a special mention for their incredible help!) KGH should be proud to have this ENT team!!
