"Emergency department appalling"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

Anything else?

I have visited Frimley Park Emergency Department twice in the last twelve months. On both occasions, the staff, response times and treatment were appalling. On the first occasion I was kept waiting over four hours, and was only seen after inquiring that I had been logged as 'Refused treatment', presumably in order to not report accurately against mandated requirements. On the second occasion, on attending the hospital at five o'clock in the morning, nobody in the ED was seen, apart from by the streaming/triage nurse, as no consultants were in the department until 8 am. We were not informed of this. The ED should implement a full feedback system (following streaming) giving indicative response/waiting times, and should, as a minimum, either have on-call consultants for overnight visits, or stop pretending to offer an ED service
