Some months ago I received an appointment to see a Cardiologist. The usual ECG was carried out all within the very smart Lancashire Care Centre. I was very nicely ushered into the room where the cardiologist was seated. They seemed really nice, I smiled - said "Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you", I then sat down at which point, this cardiologist turned on me with a real mouth ful of nasty comments to me. I have no idea what they had read in my notes, but I was totally shocked. I admit after that I really didn't listen to what they were saying, but finally I said I was going home. I had never met this person before and like all patients, meeting a new consultant, apprehension is always there, but their nastiness was totally out of order. I did write to the hospital but naturally, they are prepared to do nothing about it. I do often think this cardiologist is probably is very good clinician, sadly their personality took away knowledge of their possible skills as a cardiologist. I naturally did contact the Care Quality Commission - something that no one should ever have to do.
