Anything else?
My son was admitted to ward 130 last weekend. This was his 3rd admission at only 11months old. The staff were fantastic and I was appalled at how some of the families treat them as glorified babysitters. However despite this they were supportive and patient. They were lovely as was the catering assitant. However post discharge I tried to track down a referral that was being made to an outpatient clinic. This has resulted in me spending 2 hours being passed between 9 different telephone numbers before I finially got to speak to the appropriate person. I'm quite upset that following such a supportive experience whist on the ward there seems to be little understanding or communication when it comes to follow ups. I realise that this is a large trust but really would have appreciated not being passed round and round to different secretaries and departments. I have however finally reached the person I needed to speak to with much help from the adult respitory clinic. I'd be very greatful if my appreciation could be passed to the ward staff for doing such a brilliant job.
