I went to my local locala and saw a nurse called Julia. She was brilliant and made me feel very comfortable about my incontinence problems. I tried to deal with it myself but thought there might be something Julia could help with and she did.

I am now in touch with the right services and has helped with products. The only thing I would say is go to see people a lot earlier than I did. I know it's embarrassing but I felt at ease with Julia. She is great at what she does and the whole service at my local locala.

Thanks for your reply. You really highlight the reason that so many people don't seek help for continence problems. They feel embarrassed! We know there are thousands of people here in Kirkless with bladder and bowel problems who try and manage alone. As a specialist service we have the knowledge about what products are appropriate for specific conditions. We also measure our success on how comfortable we make people feel when talking about continence problems they may have kept secret for years.

Thanks for your response it was kind and very prompt like all the experiences I've had with everybody in locala.

I have just received my referral letter for the nerve and urologist doctor which was set up by Julia which is another step forward for me as all my problems are due to diabetic neuropathy so I am seeing the top person.

I hope this helps but if not Julia has put in place a backup for me so I am not left without any support again thankyou for listening to my rants marky sparky.
