Having been pregnant for the third time, I went for an early scan which found I'd had a failed pregnancy. I waited for another scan 10 days later where the results were confirmed, and I was booked in for an EVAC procedure 10 days later.
Two days before the surgery I started to miscarry on my own, this was something I had been through previously but this time with high levels of pain and a great deal of blood loss (over 24 hours) I went to the SAU ward 100 where I was admitted for the night, the staff (doctors and nurses) on a busy assessment ward were excellent and made me feel at ease and guided me and my partner through what was going on.
The following day I was re scanned to find I still needed the surgery on the Wednesday, I arrived at ward 104 for this in the morning and after been supported and looked after through every stage, again by a fantastic team of nurses, anaesthestists and doctors. The procedure went really well and I was home to be with my partner by lunch time.
I always hear of stories where people moan about the NHS and I wanted to let people know how fantastic the staff were and the support I received from NHS North Staffordshire was during a difficult time for me and my partner.
