I have made four visits over a period of about two months, including a sentinel lymph node biopsy operation with overnight stay. I was very impressed from the outset with the care and professionalism I encountered. The appointments were made speedily and all were trouble free. Living some distance from the hospital I was not familiar with it so I was pleasantly surprised to find how accessible it is from the station by the Exeter bus service. The hospital itself is modern with a nice entrance and reception area. In the departments I visited everywhere was clean, neat, and modern. Although I was quite anxious on my first appointment with the consultant and later when I was due to have the operation I felt I was in good hands, which gave me confidence. I met many different staff, all of whom were friendly and helpful, and everything concerning my operation explained clearly. Post operation I had a couple of queries I wanted answering and on both occasions my phone call was dealt with quickly by the department nurses. I would like to thank all the staff I met, especially the consultant and the specialist nurse assigned to me. I know that one experience might not be representative, but after my visits I would regard the RD&E as a bench mark for others.
"A very nice hospital in a lovely city."
