Dear Caroline, I am imagining that the patient concerned was either a family member or close friend of yours and so would firstly want to extend my sincere condolences at this time of loss. It is particularly thoughtful of you to get in touch. I was pleased, but not surprised, to read that the care provided by the team on ward 3 was warm and compassionate. Our staff know that small acts of kindness can mean such a lot and that their responsibilities at the end of life extend to families who are experiencing pain and loss of their own. I hope the considerate approach of the team was of some small comfort and allowed you to know that your loved one was not only well cared for but cared about. I will pass on your kind feedback, it will mean a lot to all on the team. With sympathy and warm wishes, Annie Annie Laverty - Director of patient experience.
