"Nightmare of an appointment resulting in me leaving the Hospital without my ECG"

About: Gartnavel Royal Hospital

(as the patient),

I attended Gartnavel Royal Hospital in late May 2013 for my Pre-Assessment Appointment, the nurse who took me into the room could not have been any nicer.

I was then informed to go to a ward to see a junior doctor who then sent me back down to the clinic which I was told to have an ECG. On arriving there the clerk of that department was rude and cheeky and was told this could not be carried out. I then went back up to the ward and told the junior doctor this and after she had seen me I was told to go back down that they would take me.

On my arrival back down at the pre-admission clinic I told the nurse (who was different ) to the one that carried out my assessment that I was told to have an ECG. This nurses attitude to me was disgraceful and told me exactly if I wasn't happy to make a complaint. She wasn't caring then she also accused me of being abusive to which I certainly was not, given there was no one to take my complaint I left the hospital without having my ECG. This nurses attitude was terrible and after her making the accusation I was abusive she then said go to hell

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting and where appropriate to pass comments on.

I am also sorry that you had this experience and if you were able to share further details it will be taken up with the relevant manager. Unfortunately the detail left on patient opinion doesnt enable me to do so, and if you were able to share further details I would be very pleased to have these.

Please let us know by using complainst@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Paul
