Anything else?
I took my 83 year old mother to A&E at 6 am on Saturday morning, we were spoken to pleasantly by the reception staff who made sure their records were correct and up to date; we only waited a few minutes in the waiting area before a staff nurse came and triaged my mum, we were taken straight into a side room and everyone who then spoke to us was courteous, and did what they said they were going to do quickly. This included getting results from blood tests and a doctor from one of the wards to come and examine my mum. She was given a prescription to take away, no queuing elsewhere to get her medication. We were in the hospital for 2 hours and everything was done in a professional way even though the staff were coming to the end of a night shift. It is right that we complain when things need improving but we often forget to say thank you when the NHS gets it right. This time Darlington A&E got it right so thank you. Liz
