What I liked

I felt I was treated with a lot of care and attention. There was always someone to talk to when I needed help.

The doctor who is treating me, follows my case personally and gives a lot of time to patients.

The hospital tries to get the latest in medicine and equipments to reach the highest standards.

There are Arabic translators for those who can not speak English and I find them very helpful.

The nursing staff is wonderful and they try their best to get patients' needs.

What could be improved

The day unit is always very busy, which results in the delay of treatment.

I feel this could be prevented either by increasing the number of nurses or at least distribution of the work in a better way.

Recent advances in chemotherapy treatments mean that for the most part patients undergoing chemotherapy can now be treated as outpatients.

While that’s great news, it also means extra pressure on our Medical Day Unit. We’re now seeing 25 % more patients than ever before, and the space we’ve got simply can’t accommodate everything we need.

So later this year we are starting work on a new, expanded Medical Day Unit, which will allow us to see more patients, as well as introducing a fast-track area for speedier treatments such as Herceptin infusions.

We are also going to provide new consulting rooms and a dedicated procedure room and install state-of-the-art , comfortable reclining treatment chairs with in-chair entertainment to give our patients a much nicer environment in which to have their treatment,.

By giving a more efficient service with fewer delays and by providing a more relaxed and uplifting environment for everyone, we hope that these plans will make a huge difference to our patients.
