"Hysterectomy"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

Anything else?

Had a hysterectomy in march, could not have wished for a more caring dr . Explained everything fully and was very easy to talk to . When admitted staff on birchington ward were absolutely wonderful . Only at my 6 week check I had a bad experience with the consultant he was very hard to talk to i was in there less than 10 minutes , wanted to ask him questions but felt he wasn't really interested and told me he was signing me off to my GP who incidentally I have never met so didn't want to go and see her . I had rang her for a sick note but she had written that she did not need to see me .I felt a bit lost and think it would have been nicer for a bit more support at my last hospital appointment . I wish that I had had the original doctor for my 6 week check as I think the outcome would have been better .

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback and I am really glad to hear that you were happy with your experience during the time of your operation. It sounds as if we let you down at the follow up appointment. If you would find it helpful, I can facilitate a discussion with a member if staff who is aware of your case so that they can answer any questions you have that we're not addressed at your appointment.

I will let your consultant and ward staff know how delighted you were with the care they provided. I hope you continue to recover from your operation.

We are sorry to hear of your experience at your outpatient appointment and your comments will be recorded onto our database for feedback to the division who were involved in your care. We would also like to thank you for your kind comments regarding the care you received when you were an in-patient and this will also be fedback to the manager of the ward to make the staff aware. All feedback is important to us and is used as a tool to improve services as a direct result of what our patients are telling us. We are just sorry that we cannot help you any further now. With regard to your GP we are not able to feed this back to your GP and if you wish to provide comment they may be registered with the site for comments to be posted. We hope that you are on your way to a full recovery.
