I fell on my wrist and was concerned it was broken, went to A&E had an X ray and got given a splint and fracture clinic appointment for 3 weeks time- its a suspected break. After another fall (A little bit accident prone) I went back as my wrist was going numb- after calling to make sure it was the best thing to do. Explained about previous fall and was told i'd have to wait until fracture clinic appointment in 2 days as nothing could be done- I was made to feel like it was a huge waste of the Dr time seeing me and was made to feel very small and not worth their time despite being in agony. I'd already explained to the nurse about the new fall and the amount of pain i get whilst working in a splint but it seemed none of the information was passed on. Surely If i hadn't got a fracture clinic and had just fallen, I would have been X ray'd straight away rather than having to go away and come back 2 days later wasting both my time, the doctor's time and the appointment I had could have been given to someone else- ( I had to wait three weeks for an appointment for an X Ray that should have been done 10-14 days after the orginal!)

I was really sorry to read about your experience and the way it made you feel. I realise I am responding a few weeks after you left this story (I am sorry) and it is likely that you have now seen the fracture clinic team - did they sort everything out and explain things for you?
