From the arrival of the ambulance just 5 minutes after my fall on the Wednesday evening, I could not have asked for better care.
The ambulance crew were friendly, efficient and effective, and I was taken straight through to A and E at East Surrey. The staff there gave me pain control, information about my broken hip and what to expect.
I was admitted to Leigh ward, were the nursing care was good. I was transferred to Brook ward, where, after my operation for a partial hip replacement, I found the nursing team to be outstanding. From Sister Anita downwards, all of the nursing staff was unfailingly efficient, friendly, available and all times cheerful.
They kept me informed about what to expect and they made sure that I did what was needed to aid my recovery. The phyios and occupational therapists were efficient in their use of time, but they gave me the help, equipment and exercises I needed. I was ready to go home after 6 days.
This nursing team should be congratulated on I consider is a 'best practice' performance.
"Fabulous care following a broken hip"
