I was sent in by my GP for an emergency assessment having been diagnosed with pneumonia on 17-04-13. The emergency assessment was carried out efficiently and I was admitted to ward C5 with the minimum of delay later that day. The staff on ward C5 at Russells Hall were excellent - I was well looked after by all of the nursing staff that dealt with me and I was seen each morning during my nine day stay by the doctor who kept me informed of the treatment and my progress. The ward I was in was kept scupulously clean by the hard working cleaning staff everyday. During my stay I was sent for scans and x-ray and the porters were efficient, considerate and always good humoured. I am sure that the high standard and excellent choice of food provided by the catering staff at Russells Hall Hospital was a major contributor in aiding my recovery. FolIowing successful completion of treatment, I was discharged on 25-04-13 with the necessary medication and paperwork required to take home. John M. Beaman
