"Faultless"

Anything else?

My Mother was admitted to Rothbury for palliative care and passed away in the hospital. The staff were marvellous, very caring and my Mother passed with beauty, dignity and very bravely. On top of that the staff were very caring with us as a family. Nothing was any trouble - tea and sympathy was given as well as toast! Thank you to all of them. They are very special people.

Dear Sir / Madam, Firstly, I’d like to share my sincere condolences at this very sad time. Thank you for taking the time to write –in the midst of bereavement, it is a very kind and generous thing to do. I was so heartened to read about the quality of care your Mother received from the wonderful team at Rothbury. Your point about our staff being special people is well made, we are naturally very proud of them. When our patients are sick, frightened and vulnerable, I do believe we have a special purpose in healthcare and a much deeper challenge to earn their trust, ease their anxiety and create the healing environment they need – this is particularly true at the end of life. It will mean everything to the team to hear you have described their care as ‘faultless’ when they strive every day to provide care of the highest quality at all times. . With our sympathy and thoughts to you and your family, Annie. Annie Laverty - Director of Patient Experience. Northumbria would like to apologise for the delay in posting this response due to technical difficulties experienced with NHS Choices website.
