3 times at least I have had to coordinate my appointments between having a CT scan and the review of the results with the consultant. Not for the first time has my appointment with the consultant come before my actual CT scan. With this in mind and well in advance of my upcoming CT scan I made everyone concerned aware of my upcoming holiday dates, in the hope that I would avoid this happening again. I was wrong and yet again this has happened and today having spoken with "Outpatients Booking Co-ordinator" and the CT scanning Department have re-arranged my appointments. As a result there is only 3 days now between having my CT scan and my review with the consultant. Therefore he will not have the results in total when I see him. Apart from being the patient I am also coordinating my own appointments. It would seem that there is a distinct lack of communication between departments. This is not good enough. For this to happen once you can maybe understand, but 4 times is irresponsible. Having said this, I would like to say that my time in hospital went well, and the consultant and his team did their job superbly well. On the other hand there was the odd individual in the aftercare, who made me feel like an inconvenience to them, but that is another story. Would it also be an idea to have as an option "out Patients" in the drop down menu for departments.
