from the moment one arrives one is made to feel important, you are personally escorted to your pod, and checked again, then you are advised to change into gowns etc. with assurance that your worldly goods will follow you and are safe. you are checked to ensure they have the correct patient to procedure, there is always some magazines to idle the time away, your first visit is by the consultant whom goes through what he is expecting to do and asks if you have any questions and explains what you want to know very polite, and accurate, marks the site after checking details and if you have not signed sign consent form. gets you to sign it.normally after that visit you will be seen by the anaesthetist whom will again go over your medical checks again to make sure they have all the information, and if it is time will escort you to the theatre waiting room where if you are having general anaesthetic everything again is checked id and explained what is going to happen stage by stage very professional, as I had a local I was checked again and advised of what was going to happen and asked if I wanted to carry on, as usual my body does not comply and had additional anaesthesia to foot. Again apologies from staff and reassurance throughout the whole procedure. that comforting hand when anxiety comes in from any procedure was quickly addressed and support given, which made me feel better. The surgeon was very good explaining why he was doing and what he was doing preparing me for any discomfort I may have. after it was dressed quickly and cleaned up with little fuss everyone knowing what they had to do. I was wheeled out to recovery back in the pods as it was a local and my sats done and the greatest cup of tea and toast all the time being checked out discreetly to ensure I was okay, everything was checked again and I was sent home with instructions explained twice to ensure I understood. again anyone whom has a worry Don't they are very good I hope this gives an insight to allay any fears they are very good teams very professional I thank them all.

Thank you so much for your kind words about your recent treatment at the QE. We know staff are always keen to hear how their patients are doing, so we'll be sure to pass your comments on to them. Thank you for taking the time to rate us on NHS Choices.
