Staff at reception are particularly rude and sullen , resulting in having to fill in separate complaint form. Have been overlooked whilst in waiting area as nurses unwilling to call names loud or check complete waiting area for patient. Misinformation regarding location of my doctor records, i was told they were at a different surgery to where they were actually found. Have also visited with other family members and they have also had poor treatment from reception staff, an issue that really should be addressed.

Your comments have been passed on to the Matron of the Minor Injury Unit at Weymouth Community Hospital who would like to offer her apologies for the reception staff behaviours on the day you visited the department and the distress this caused. It might be helpful if we explain that there are actually two other departments/organisations who work from this one reception area along with MIU. In addition to the MIU receptionist there is the outpatient receptionist and the walk in centre receptionist who are dealing with their own specific patients. Unfortunately all the patients for all three departments sit in the same waiting area and therefore it can often appear that people are overlooked when in fact they are being called to different departments. None of the departments, including the Minor Injury Unit, hold GP notes, in a similar way that A&E don’t hold GP notes and so we are unable to comment this issue without the full details. Once again we apologise that your experience of Weymouth Community hospital was not a good one on this occasion and do hope that should you require our services again in the future that your experience is more favourable.
