I spent the majority of my pregnancy being told I wouldn't need a c-sec and it was a more dangerous option etc, then my baby was breech so I was told I had to have one (which was fair enough as best for baby but the scare-mongering and near refusal to discuss c-sec as an option was not good). I got pregnant again 6 months later and they are pushing for VBAC and again near refusing to discuss a c-sec even tho the risk of uterine rupture may (but they won't confirm or deny if it is) be higher so soon after my last c-sec. With regards to post-care, I had a lot of difficulty breast feeding - the nurses response to this problem was to physically milk me til I bled, I asked for formula for my baby (who spent most of his 2nd day of life screaming with hunger) but they refused to get me milk as I had initially said I would breast feed. In the end I was sore and felt slightly violated and my baby lost a huge amount of weight and didn't get back up to his birth weight until 2 weeks later. I started bottle feeding when we got home but I was in hospital for 3 long long days.
