"Orthopaedics spinal surgery (ruptured disc)"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Anything else?

I visited James Cook twice, firstly the A&E dept and then for surgery the following week. The care I received from the consultants, anaesthetist, and nursing team was outstanding and the outcome of the surgery was excellent. The nursing staff and physiotherapists on ward 36 were (with one possible exception) very professional, caring and compassionate to all the patients. They took time to listen and ensure the best possible treatment for those in their care day and night. The ward and its facilities were kept clean, tidy and comfortable at all times.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the care and treatment you received from The James Cook University Hospital. It is always pleasing to receive words of thanks and I very much appreciate you taking the time to provide such positive feedback. I shall forward your comments to the staff involved and I know they will be equally pleased to read them. It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk If you would like to discuss further, the care and treatment you received during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Relations Department on 01642 854500. With best wishes Yours sincerely Mrs Linda Oliver Patient Experience Co-ordinator
