"Chaotic rude back office staff"

About: Rivers Hospital

Anything else?

I cannot praise the Consultant and nursing staff enough. They all worked well and were helpful, polite and all the good things you would want when having an operation. Unfortunately they were let down before I was even admitted by the rude and unhelpful staff in the Rivers Hospital NHS office. The hospital office staff apparently try to give 2 weeks notice of an op. In reality they provide far less, more like three days. This has happened on the three occasions I have been admitted They never return phone calls are not willing to answer any questions and generally unhelpful and appear to try to be obstructive as possible. Clear out the prima-donna office, and employ people who are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and this hospital would be 5 star. Unfortunately while the medical side is obviously important, it is an all round service and with busy lives the public do have to ask questions and more notice for operations

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the problems you encountered. We do recognise we had some problems with our administation process as a result of an increase in patients choosing our facilitry for their treatment. We are increasing our resources and have installeed a new telephoine system with teh volume of calls we currently we receive. This will help us to ensure we give patients more notice of their operation date.
