"No hospitals signs"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

Having been to this hospital for a second time we can't believe how there are no signs for the hospital till you are nearly there. We came off the M18 to get here & it's agood job we had plenty of time before my appointment or we would have been late.Parking is really bad too & I had to leave my husband on both occasions looking for parking spaces. Also on both occasions there's been a delay of more than 40 mins to see the doctor.Im just pleased I haven't got to come back hopefully for along while

Thanks for highlighting this. You make a good point about directions from the motorway to DRI and our Estates team are going to be speaking to the relevant agencies to see if we can get them improved. (It's not something that we control.)

I'm also really sorry to hear about the problems you had finding somewhere to park and the delays to see a doctor. The site at DRI has limited parking available and, unfortunately, there isn't any way for us to increase the number of spaces available at the moment because we're surrounded on all sides by houses. We are looking longer term at a site strategy to make the best possible use of space and see if there is anything we can do to improve parking facilities.

We do offer a free park and ride service to the hospital from Doncaster Racecourse which you may find convenient If you're visiting DRI again. There is loads of free parking there on Leger Way and free buses every 20 minutes or so.

Please accept my apologies for the wait to see the doctor when you visited and for the fact that it seems no one explained why things were running late or kept you informed. If you want to contact me with details we can try and find out for you. My email is emer.scott@dbh.nhs.uk.
