"Therapy should be longer"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I did CBT for roughly 3 months and found it helpful at times even though I was in and out of crisis.

My only problem was I think it should of been longer as I thought 3 months wasn't long enough, When it came to an end I explained to my therapist that I felt I needed more time but was discharged anyway which left me feeling abandoned, which isn't good as I have borderline personality disorder but I couldn't fault my therapist in other ways as they were always concerned about my care.

Dear Tink123

Thank you for your feedback.

I am really glad you found the therapy useful and had a positive experience of your therapist.

I'm sorry that you feel it was not long enough for your needs at this time, 3 months is the usual timescale for CBT. However, your GP can always request a re-referral for you in a few months time when we could review things with you.

Best wishes
