Anything else?
I arrived at the Day Care unit at 7.30 am on 28th March and was greeted in a friendly manner by the duty nurse. She talked me through the procedure and made me feel very much at ease. Despite being busy she made a point of letting me know of a delay that was out of her control and added her reassurance, from time to time, that I would not have to wait too long. Eventually I was escorted to the anaesthesia room where I lay down on a trolley for a few moments before the anaesthetist arrived. He carefully and clearly explained to me his role, what would happen once he attached the cannula to my hand, and then he fed the various drips into me. The next thing I knew was a nurse gently calling my name and telling me I was in the recovery room. This nurse stayed with me, or close by, for the next four hours. She was kind, pleasant and extremely professional at all times. I felt totally confident that I was being cared for by a very competent and knowledgeable member of the medical profession. She is an asset to your hospital and is to be congratulated on the way in which she carries out her duties. Please pass along my thanks and compliments to all with whom I came in contact that day: the surgical team, the anaesthetic team members, the welcoming and discharge team .
