"Excellent care."

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Anything else?

I have recently undergone complex ankle surgery. From Preassessment to Surgical Admissions, Theatre and Anaesthetics to care on Ward 36, I received thoroughly professional care from dedicated staff. Support from physiotherapy, the plaster technicians and Home Discharge service was equally conscientious; the chaplains were thoughtful and caring.. Cleaning, catering and portering staff all took their duties seriously, I have to return for further surgery and look forward to it with every confidence after the top class care and expertise I received on this occasion.

Thank you for your comments regarding the care and treatment you received from various departments within The James Cook University Hospital, during your admission for ankle surgery. It is always pleasing to receive words of thanks and I very much appreciate you taking the time to provide such positive feedback. I shall ensure you kind words are forwarded to the staff involved in your care and treatment. It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk With best wishes for your further surgery and recovery. Yours sincerely Mrs Linda Oliver Patient Experience Co-ordinator
