"very helpful and involved me every step of the way"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Anything else?

I have been receiving care in the Rheumatology dept for several years

and have found all the consultants and nurses to be very professional and helpful

always talking me through my various treatments and explaining any side effects

the nurses are always available on the phone for advice

The waiting times are sometimes a bit long but you have to expect that in a busy hospital

it's better that the consultant takes as much time as is needed with each patient rather than just rushing you out to keep to a timetable

the nursing staff always keep the patients informed of any delays

Long may this department continue to offer this great service

well done and thanks

Dear Carlthis,

Many thanks for taking the time to give us this lovely feedback. I am delighted that you have been given every opportunity to feel fully involved in your care and treatment. You have clearly established very good relationships with all members of the Rheumatology team over a number of years now. We know that this is an important part of helping patients to feel confident about their care and able to ask the questions they need to.

I will pass on your kind words to the team who I know will be very grateful to receive them.

We monitor our waiting times very carefully and want to do all we can to respect our patients and their time - I am sorry if pressures on the service have meant you have waited longer to be seen than you would like. We are working actively as an organisation to ensure all our outpatient services are as efficient as they can be whilst protecting the quality of our care. We are delighted that 98% of our outpatients rated their care as good , very good or excellent last year and want to continue to improve and secure their trust in our care in the future.

With kind regards and thanks once again,

Annie.

Annie Laverty - Director of Patient Experience.
